Data is sourced from birthing hospitals, midwifery practice groups, Expanded Midwifery Care Models (EMCM), birthing centres, fertility clinics, prenatal and newborn screening laboratories, follow-up clinics, clinical programs, and primary care organizations.

Who Uses the Data?

Many hospitals and midwifery practice groups use their clinical data to support their own quality improvement initiatives. Additionally, external partners across the province use this data to improve care for mothers and babies in Ontario, for example:

  • LHINs
  • Public Health Units
  • Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care
  • Regional Networks
  • Researchers
