Celebrating Sonography Week 2023October 2nd - 6th is Sonography Week  - 5 days to recognize and celebrate the important contributions of sonographers in Canada.

These 'medical detectives' are active in many areas of healthcare. The ultrasound exams they conduct provide key diagnostic information to physicians about a patient’s medical condition.

Meet Susan Burnett-Roy, DMS, CRGS, RDMS
Clinical Content Specialist at BORN

Susan Burentt-RoySusan is an ultrasound technologist with 33 years’ experience in both the hospital and private clinic settings.  She has expertise in abdominal, gynecological, obstetrical, small part, breast and MSK sonography. She's an Independent Health Facility (IHF) assessor for the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario (and has been for 27 years!) as well as an Instructor and preceptor for the Canadian National Institute of Health (CNIH) Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.

Fun Facts
  • Susan's NT BORN Identification number is 27; she says, "I took the 1st NT course offered in Ottawa and was part of the original screening program."
  • Susan enjoys running and averages 25-30 km a week. She's competed in the Ottawa Tamarack 10km race every year since 2015.
