  • World Quality Week - Thinking Differently

    BORN Ontario celebrated World Quality week by showcasing how we are Thinking Differently about Data and Information Quality. The webinar focuses on three key areas: aligning quality with BORN’s strategic priorities, strengthening data quality to improve system performance and patient outcomes, and fostering people and partnerships to achieve high-quality data.

  • Montreal to Host the XXVI FIGO World Congress of Gynecology and Obstetrics

    Montréal, Canada will host the 2027 FIGO World Congress of Gynecology and Obstetrics, in partnership with the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC). The Congress will provide a powerful space for dialogue, collaboration, and global solidarity.

  • IRCC Releases 2026-2028 Immigration Levels Plan

    Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) recently released details on the 2026-2028 Immigration Levels Plan (Levels Plan). The Levels Plan includes temporary resident targets and ranges for new arrivals of international students and temporary foreign workers, along with permanent resident targets and ranges under the immigration categories of Economic, Family, Refugees and Protected Persons, and Humanitarian & Compassionate and Other.

    Check out  MyScreeningPathway.ca - a resource for people who are pregnant or planning a pregnancy to learn more about prenatal screening and find out which screening options are right for them.

    You can: 

    • Learn about prenatal screening for chromosomal differences and fetal blood types and
    • Explore your prenatal screening options to discuss with a health-care provider.

  • The power of health data and AI in early detection of autism spectrum disorder

    Researchers are exploring how machine learning and real-world data could help identify autism spectrum disorder earlier and inform future screening approaches.

    An early-stage study used data from CIHI, BORN and other linked provincial records to explore whether AI could help identify children likely to be diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, highlighting how population-based health data could inform more consistent, system-wide approaches to assessment.

     

  • SOGC Calls for National Stillbirth Strategy and Improved Pregnancy Loss Care

    Marking Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day on October 15, the SOGC highlighted ongoing gaps in compassionate and consistent care for families experiencing early pregnancy loss or stillbirth and is calling for a National Stillbirth Strategy.

  • Highlights from the Canadian Perinatal Programs Coalition Meeting

    At the October 6–7, 2025 CPPC meeting, participants focused on defining how this now, not-for-profit, legal entity can advance perinatal care nationwide through collaboration among programs across Canada.
