MinoFest 2026: Data that Serves - Shaping a Shared Path to Equity

Duration: 40:12 minutes · Language: English

At Minofest 2026, BORN Executive Director Alicia St. Hill delivered the keynote address, Data That Serves: A Shared Path to Equity Through SD/SDH Data and Responsible Governance. Drawing on BORN’s work to improve maternal and perinatal health outcomes, Alicia explored the critical role of data governance, accountability, and action in advancing health equity for racialized communities.

Alicia outlined current initiatives, including advancing equity in preeclampsia prevention, examining the use of race-based data in prenatal screening for trisomy 21, developing a Black Health Equity Framework, and planning for the future development of BORNConnect and its flagship product, the Digital Ontario Perinatal Record+. Across these discussions, a central theme emerged: the importance of trust, care, and meaningful data sharing with communities.
