BORN Researchers to Present at the 2026 Precision Child and Youth Mental Health Conference

The upcoming Precision Child and Youth Mental Health Conference 2026 will bring together leading researchers, clinicians, funders, and policymakers to explore emerging approaches to improving mental health care for children and youth.

Hosted by the CHEO Research Institute in collaboration with the University of Ottawa, the two-day conference will feature keynote speakers and innovators from Europe, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. Sessions will cover a wide range of topics, from pan-Canadian research examining the interaction between environment and genomics in child and youth mental health to discussions about the potential impact of artificial intelligence on the future of child and adolescent psychiatry.

Researchers from BORN Ontario will be among those sharing their expertise. Dr. Christine Armour will present “Beyond the Algorithm: Integrating Systems Thinking into Precision Population-based ASD Screening,” while Dr. Kevin Dick is one of three speakers delivering “A Practical Introduction to AI for Mental Health Applications.”

The conference also includes workshops and presentations showcasing cutting-edge research and innovative approaches designed to advance precision child and youth mental health.
