Indigenous Wellness
Indigenous Wellness
At BORN Ontario, we recognize the inherent rights of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Nations to govern the collection, access, use, and sharing of data about their people, communities, and Nations. We commit to engaging with Indigenous partners in a respectful, transparent, and collaborative manner to ensure that data and reports are shared in ways that support self-determination, promote Nation and community well-being, and align with Indigenous data sovereignty principles.
We acknowledge the unique histories, cultures, and governance structures of Indigenous peoples in Ontario and commit to fostering relationships that are long-term, trust-based, and co-developed. BORN Ontario is dedicated to ensuring that the data we steward contribute to the priorities and aspirations of Indigenous communities, supports Indigenous-led research, and that the process of sharing those data is led by respect, relevance, and reciprocity.
