Maternal Newborn Outcomes Committee

The Maternal Newborn Outcomes Committee (MNOC) provides scientific, clinical, and system expertise to strengthen maternal and newborn care in Ontario.

An interdisciplinary group with broad provincial representation—including rural and remote communities—MNOC advises on data collection and evaluation, identifies clinical, analytical and research priorities, and supports quality improvement in perinatal care in Ontario.

In collaboration with partners such as the Provincial Council for Maternal and Child Health (PCMCH), regional perinatal networks, hospitals, midwifery, and the Ministry of Health, the committee reviews clinical practice changes, ensures data relevancy in the BORN Information System, and advises on knowledge dissemination with key systems partners and the public to promote better outcomes.

MNOC also supports program evaluation, research, and quality assurance through its subcommittees and working groups.
