The Perinatal Health Indicators for Ontario 2012 report provides provincial level health information for eight perinatal indicators. The report is based on a 5-year dataset (calendar years 2006 – 2010) and presents descriptive statistics, predominantly proportions. Five-year trends for each indicator are presented for Ontario. Ontario is then compared to estimates for the rest of Canada over a three year period (calendar years 2006–2008).

This report illustrates the scope and importance of the BORN Information System in addressing measurement issues in perinatal surveillance for Ontario.

Written for health care providers, public health officials, epidemiologists and researchers, this report complements the Canadian Perinatal Surveillance System Report: Perinatal Health Indicators for Canada 2011.
