Maternal Child Outcomes Committee
The Maternal-Child Outcomes Committee will provide scientific and technical leadership advice to BORN Ontario for the information and evidence on outcomes related to clinical care affecting Ontario’s maternal and child populations, including, but not limited to:
- Advising BORN on the definition, collection, monitoring and evaluation of specific core indicators of maternal and child health, developed in collaboration with PCMCH.
- Evaluating and making recommendations regarding the scope, definitions, processes and methods for collection of maternal and child data
- Making recommendations on disseminating knowledge gained from analysis of BORN data
- Advising on research necessary to enhance understanding of maternal and child health , especially as related to observations from analysis of BORN data
- Providing advice on addition of existing data sources for BORN for enhancing maternal child outcomes ( i.e. CARTR database)
- Referring policy questions to the appropriate subcommittee of PCMCH for policy analysis and to work collaboratively to consider the operational and implementation issues raised by their policy analysis.
- Providing scientific oversight and program evaluation for specific initiatives as defined by BORN Executive
